The Canadian Pacific Sardine Association was formed to represent sardine permit holders to the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans ('DFO') as well as other agencies and organizations.
The BC quota is set through the PSARC process and an Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (PDF file, 247 Kb) is developed each year.
The Pacific Sardine Association has conducted projects to produce a quality product and supports an expansion of the BC fishery that ensures an equitable sharing of the resource and a premium quality product. The PSA is committed to maximizing the benefits from the sardine fishery through a quality product.
